Keynote set for CES in Las Vegas
Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on Monday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where he is expected to share new details about the company’s product roadmap. The appearance comes as Nvidia, the world’s most valuable listed company, faces growing competitive pressure from both rivals and major customers.
Huang’s speech is set to begin at 4 p.m. EST, marking one of the most closely watched moments of the annual technology conference.
Customer competition adds pressure
Less than two weeks ago, Nvidia acquired talent and chip technology from startup Groq, including executives who previously played a key role in helping Google design its own artificial intelligence chips. While Google remains a major Nvidia customer, its in-house chips have become a significant competitive threat.
Google is working closely with partners such as Meta Platforms to reduce reliance on Nvidia hardware, gradually challenging Nvidia’s dominance in AI computing.
Focus on next-generation chips
Nvidia is also expected to emphasize the performance of its newest products compared with older models such as the H200 chip. That processor, which predates Nvidia’s flagship Blackwell platform, has been permitted for sale to China under US export rules.
Demand for the H200 chip in China has been reported as strong, raising concerns among US policymakers focused on technology exports and national security.
CES highlights broader industry shifts
Huang will be joined at CES by several high-profile technology leaders, reflecting the event’s role as a platform for major strategic announcements. Other keynote speakers this year include AMD chief executive Lisa Su, Oura chief executive Tom Hale, and Lenovo chief executive Yuanqing Yang.
The lineup underscores the intensifying competition across semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and consumer technology as companies race to define the next phase of innovation.
