New fixed income features now live on Chase platforms
J.P. Morgan has launched a major upgrade to its Self-Directed Investing platform, giving retail investors a more intuitive and powerful way to trade fixed income products. The update, now available on both Chase.com and the Chase mobile app, introduces a suite of tools aimed at simplifying the process of exploring and purchasing corporate bonds, Treasuries, municipal bonds, and brokered CDs.
These changes come as fixed income regains investor attention amid stock market volatility. With interest payments providing a buffer against equity swings, demand for smarter bond tools is growing. J.P. Morgan’s new interface seeks to make fixed income as approachable as stock trading.
What’s new for investors
- Yield Comparison Table: Users can compare returns across various fixed income instruments at a glance, filtered by desired maturity periods.
- Customizable Screeners: With a few clicks, investors can narrow down opportunities by type, term, and yield. Saved filters make re-use seamless.
- Streamlined Trade Ticket: Fewer steps, better clarity. The new ticket view shows available quantities at specific prices and includes contextual help for bond market newcomers.
“Fixed income investments are a key part of a diversified portfolio,” said Paul Vienick, Head of Online Investing at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. “We’ve built a familiar, simplified experience that empowers both experienced traders and first-time bond buyers.”
Part of a broader upgrade strategy
This launch is the latest move in J.P. Morgan’s strategy to make its Self-Directed Investing platform a comprehensive wealth-building tool for Chase clients. In the past year, the firm has rolled out:
- Fractional shares for over 3,000 stocks and ETFs
- Performance comparison tools vs. major market indices
- Expanded investment options, including leveraged and volatility ETFs
- Support for margin accounts and trust account structures
Customers can also access retirement specialists via a dedicated retirement desk to assist with rollovers and funding strategies, further integrating long-term planning into the platform.
Recognition and incentives
J.P. Morgan’s platform has already earned industry acclaim, topping J.D. Power’s Wealth Management Digital Experience Study for both self-directed and full-service clients. It also received “Best-in-Class” honors for retirement accounts and bank-integrated brokerages from StockBrokers.com.
New customers can receive up to $700 in bonuses when opening and funding an eligible account. With access to thousands of investments and a now robust bond marketplace, J.P. Morgan is positioning itself as a one-stop shop for digital investors aiming to take control of their financial future.
